Service is a funny thing. I served in public service for 32 years and never worked a day in my life. Why would I say such a thing? I never worked because I loved every minute of it. Yes, I ‘worked’ hard, but if I could have I would have done it for nothing. I believe the men and I served with who were firefighters, park workers, sanitation workers, teachers and policeman (to name a few) would have said the same thing. None of us were made wealthy, yet we made good livings. The truth is if we get to serve we feel fulfilled. Nothing is more important than feeling fulfilled in our work.

So so true my friend. I think that’s why I miss my career so much because a loved what I did and the people I got to work with. Xxx
