ANZAC DAY (Poem) #veterans #respect #war #rememberance #love #peace

anzac day

though I know nothing of the wars of men
where scattered bodies lay
and though I know not of what happened then
on that cold and bloody day

My heart feels heavy when I think of how
mothers and fathers mourn
the senseless, cruel and violent death
of their children which were born

Today I will respect the price they paid
no matter which war they fought
and I hope that with their dying breath
a powerful lesson is taught

– Lest we forget
